How it works

Hyper.Net SnapShot takes advantage of Hyper.Net's comprehensive document handling power to ensure every PDF and PDFA contains the content and features the business needs. Regardless of complexity, Hyper.Net SnapShot automates every step of the snapshot process:

  1. Process initiated automatically from a workflow action or event sync, or manually via SOAP request
  2. Configured pre-processing is run on selected documents
  3. Documents to be merged are converted into staging PDFs
  4. Staging PDFs are combined in the required sequence into a single, pre-final PDF
  5. Metadata is extracted and stamped at the configured location onto every page in the pre-final PDF
  6. Watermarking is applied to the pre-final PDF
  7. If required, the pre-final PDF is transformed into a valid PDFA
  8. The final document is routed synchronously or asynchronously along with its metadata to the configured destination

Functional Highlights

  • Any content storage facility can initiate the Hyper.Net SnapShot process by making a simple XML call to Hyper.Net at any desired point in the document lifecycle or workflow
  • Document metadata can be used to control all stages of the process
  • Differing page orientations are handled intelligently
  • When creating a PDF or PDFA from documents in a folder hierarchy, the content of the resulting file will reflect the in-order traversal of the hierarchy and contain a unified table of contents with sequential page numbering. Ideal for records management and for assembling project or meeting materials!

SharePoint highlights

  • Automatic initiation via SharePoint document management events or programmatically from any desired point in the document workflow
  • PDF and PDFA files can be routed back into SharePoint shadow libraries, SharePoint page libraries, or placed on SharePoint lists
  • SharePoint documents containing only metadata as well as SharePoint lists can also be archived
  • Works seamlessly and transparently with SharePoint review and approval processes— versions are converted and routed upon approval
  • Document merging is repeated automatically when any document in the merge is modified
  • PDF/PDFA jobs can be manually set up and initiated

Advantages

  • Centralized and completely automated. No need to entrust the archiving process to human interaction. Working in the background, Hyper.Net watches your documents and takes care of the entire archiving process for you. All you need to do is install and configure.
  • Reaches as far as you need. Archive content from any location: SharePoint, SAP, document managers, IBM Content Manager, Saperion, Lotus Notes, XML input data, etc. Your organization's entire collection of content is archived in a consistent, uniform fashion—regardless of where it is stored.
  • Grows as your requirements grow. Any required changes to conversion or re-purposing technology can be made to Hyper.Net, allowing you to avoid continuous hammering at your solution or having to re-test it when requirements change.
  • Easy to customize. Add your own pre- and post-processing routines via XML to accomplish all of the finer manipulations your business requires—and that you must implement from scratch when using other conversion solutions.
